CRCS members Babis Tsourakakis, Michael Mitzenmacher and other collaborators, had their paper "Scalable Large Near-Clique Detection in Large-Scale Networks via Sampling" accepted at KDD'15. Babis now has both a paper and a tutorial accepted to KDD 2015!
CRCS Affiliate Scott Duke Kominers has been awarded the Case Centre award, alongside Benjamin Edelman. The Online Marketing at Big Skinny case won the Knowledge, Information and Communication Systems Management category at The Case Centre Awards and Competitions 2015.
Babis Tsourakakis' tutorial proposal has been accepted to ACM SIGKDD Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining. KDD 2015 is a premier conference that brings together researchers and practitioners from data mining, knowledge discovery, data analytics, and big data. KDD 2015 will be the first Australian edition of KDD, and is its second time in the Asia Pacific region.
CRCS Affiliate Scott Kominers will be teaching Economics 2099, Market Design, at Harvard University in fall 2015.
Course Description: This course explores the theory and practice of market design. Key topics include auctions, labor market matching, school choice programs, online markets, organ exchange systems, financial market design, and matching with contracts. The first half of the course will introduce market design and its technology; subsequent weeks will discuss recent papers alongside their classical antecedents.

Fellow Babis Tsourakakis has a paper accepted in the ACM Transactions on Knowledge Discovery from Data (TKDD). The Transactions on Knowledge Discovery from Data (TKDD) is part of the family of journals produced by the ACM. TKDD publishes one volume yearly. Each volume is comprised of four issues, which appear in March, June, September and December.
