SUMMARY:Critical Federal Data Preservation in 2025
DESCRIPTION:
Since inauguration, the Trump administration has targeted the United States scientific establishment through agency firings, censorship, and funding cuts. It has explicitly targeted data that the American taxpayers have paid for—some examples include data on climate, environmental justice, and LGBTQ+ health. This threatens science, the impartiality and remit of government agencies, and truth writ large. To ensure that our science can continue, an ad-hoc consortium of organizations from around the country and collaborators from around the world has emerged to preserve the data that we rely on.

Jonathan Gilmour, Data Scientist at Harvard T.
